Wellness – New information on inflammation
The biggest health concerns in America nowadays are heart health, cancer, Alzheimer’s and obesity. Surprisingly, or maybe not so surprising, there is an apparent link to all these health concerns. The newest biochemistry research shows a direct correlation between inflammation and ALL these health problems. But, this does not equate to inflammation being “bad,” in fact, inflammation is good and necessary. So, why would something good contribute to health problems? The full answer to this is too complicated to address in this short article, but the short answer is: Too Much inflammation contributes to your propensity to acquire these diseases. Inflammation alone does not give you heart disease, but if heart disease runs in your family AND you have excess inflammation, you are very likely to develop a heart disease.
The next logical question is “How do I know if I have too much inflammation?” This is easy to answer. If you eat wheat, (bread, cereal, cakes, pasta, etc) sugar, (high fructose corn syrup, dextrose, cakes, flavored milk) excess red meat, fried foods and drink soda OR you have been diagnosed with diabetes, high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, high cholesterol or cancer, you already have too much inflammation.
What can you do to protect yourself from increasing risk of developing these diseases because of inflammation?
You can’t change your genes, but you can:
First and foremost: Significantly limit all of the above foods. All doctors agree that these foods are not the best for you. And you deserve the best.
Second: Eat more vegetables and fruit, the anti-oxidants help the body eliminate inflammation more effectively.
Third: Get adjusted regularly, adjusting joints to function more in alignment takes pressure off the joints which reduces inflammation in the local area and stimulates the nerves to heal the area.
Take care of yourself!
