As you reduce the wheat and packaged foods, replace a small part of those calories with the cleanest meats you can find. Chickens that are crammed in together become very stressed and whatever hormones they produce in their short life will still be there when they are killed. Chickens that are free roaming eating what they naturally eat will be less stressed, healthier and more than likely better for consumption. Salmon that is farmed is fed different food and since you are what you eat AND what you eat eats, this is important. But, even if you cannot get wild caught, even farmed is better than eating junk food. Salmon is anti-inflammatory, full of omega-3, and vitamin D, and wild caught is better for you, but even farmed will provide you with many nutrients. Add salmon or fish 3x/week for best benefits.
Milk doesn’t do a body good. It has very little nutrition, but contributes to inflammation. Yogurt and cottage cheese are ok. But, replace milk with almond or cashew milk. Ice cream is just plain bad for you (sugar, milk and artificial flavors) so enjoy it as an occasional treat.
