Step 27: Add grapefruit. Grapefruit is good for blood pressure and heart health. The combination of fiber, potassium, lycopene, vitamin C and choline in grapefruit all help to maintain a healthy heart. One study found that a diet including fresh red grapefruit positively affects blood lipid levels, especially triglycerides. Caution: There is a long list of medications adversely affected by grapefruit and/or grapefruit juice.
Step 28: Add dandelion greens, romaine lettuce, other dark greens. Dark greens are loaded with Vitamins A, C and K as well as moderate levels of numerous minerals. Kale is great stir-fried; Dandelion greens on a salad; Watercress on a sandwich helps the skin cells; Spinach is delicious in soups and boosts blood health; so try a new one each month!
