Purification Corner Steps 47 & 48

The Ultimate Guide to Purification and getting your Energy back!

The purification system that I use takes just 3 weeks to boost the elimination of natural toxins from your body. As these toxins leave, people report feeling lighter and more energetic along with experiencing better sleep and weight loss!

This all adds up to better health and function.

People have asked if they are able to do this at home without the supplements. So, I created this self-directed purification which can be accomplished over time with step-by-step instructions that will be outlined here in the Purification Corner every month!

Step 47:  Add various spices

Spices not only add marvelous flavor to countless different dishes, but they are also chock-full of healthy compounds and may have useful health benefits. Herbs and spices can fight inflammation, reduce damage to your body’s cells, and supply the organs with nutrients not found in significant quantities in other foods. And since they are plant nutrients, such as rich phytochemicals and bioflavonoids, they may help with certain issues.

Cinnamon

For example; cinnamon has 8% of your daily requirement for Calcium, doesn’t sound like much? You only need 1 tablespoon for 77 mg of Calcium! And cinnamon has been shown to reduce blood sugar, which is extremely helpful for diabetes. 1

Basil

Basil is another fabulous option because, it too offers 10% of your daily requirements for Calcium at only 1 teaspoon of the dried herb! And, it has antioxidants and vitamins, such as vitamins K and A, and magnesium.

Rosemary is anti-inflammatory. Parsley provides Calcium. Cilantro helps the liver with purification providing chelating factor for heavy metals. Sage is anti-inflammatory. Ginger is anti-inflammatory and helps the stomach. Turmeric is anti-inflammatory. Cayenne pepper is good for the blood and black pepper is good for the stomach.  Garlic, Echinacea, and Oregano help support the immune system.  Fenugreek is anti-inflammatory and helps eliminate toxins.

Check out this article about the 5 herbs you should be using everyday!

Step 48: Add fish and seafood.

Fish and seafood are very healthy. For instance, 1 – 6 ounce serving of salmon provides a 2-day supply of Vitamin D. Moreover, most cold water fish have a good amount of the healthy fat “omega-3” that our body cannot make itself. And Vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids help to reduce the incidence of rheumatoid arthritis, heart disease, acne, high cholesterol, and many others. Try a few different types of fish and enjoy some variety!

Recipe Rosemary and Cinnamon Salmon

Ingredients: 2 lbs of wild salmon
2 bunches of fresh rosemary (or 2 Tablespoons dried)
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 large onion sliced in rings
Olive oil and Lemon

Directions: Line your pan with aluminum foil and preheat the oven to 400.
Brush the foil with a bit of olive oil and lay the onion slices in a single layer.
Top with Salmon, skin side down. Brush olive oil on the top the salmon.
Sprinkle the cinnamon on the salmon and put the rosemary on top of the salmon as well.
You may wrap the foil around the fish or leave it open. Either way, it will take
about 15 -20 minutes to cook at 400 degrees, you will know it is done when the

The Ultimate Guide to Purification and getting your Energy back!

The purification system that I use takes just 3 weeks to boost the elimination of natural toxins from your body. As these toxins leave, people report feeling lighter and more energetic along with experiencing better sleep and weight loss!

This self-directed purification can be accomplished over time with step-by-step instructions that will be outlined here in the Purification Corner every month!

Step 45: Moderate alcohol and eliminate cigarette smoking.

Hopefully no one will need an explanation for why smoking is bad for you (tar, nicotine, formaldehyde, etc).

Alcohol is not as simple. 1 glass of wine, particularly red, provides the body with resveratrol. But, so does grape juice. And grapes.

Benefits

But, 1 serving per day has also not been shown to cause severe deficits either, rather over-indulgence is the biggest problem. Studies have shown moderate red wine consumption (1 serving per day) may reduce the risk of several cancers, dementia and depression. It may also increase insulin sensitivity and reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes in women.

Risks

The key is, therefore, moderation. One serving per day will provide benefits while minimizing risks. Over-indulgence will cause  liver disease, heart disease, sleep disorders, depression, stroke, bleeding from the stomach, sexually transmitted infections from unsafe sex, and several types of cancer.  It may contribute to problems managing diabetes, high blood pressure, and other health conditions.

Step 46:  Add some unique fruits that are in season.

The next time you go to the store, go through the produce section and look for fruits that you are unfamiliar with. Florida produces pommelos, dragonfruit and jackfruit in the winter months. If you have never tried them, pick one or any of the “weird” fruits you may see and look up how to prepare them. Try something new just for the opportunity of trying something new! Dragonfruit looks scary! But, the inside is excellent, mildly sweet and very pleasant tasting.

Recipe

Smoothie

Dragon Fruit Smoothie

5 or 6 ounces of dragon fruit, frozen or fresh

1 Banana, if the dragon fruit is fresh, the banana should be frozen

1/2 Cup of pineapple, fresh or frozen

1/2 Cup of mango, fresh or frozen

Liquid: Water, Almond Milk, Soy Milk, or other liquid options Approx: 1/2 Cup depending on the desired consistency

Spices: Lemon juice or Lime juice, cilantro, ginger try different tastes, use about 1 tablespoon of one spice, taste and add what you like.

Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Enjoy!! P.S. If diabetes is a concern, this smoothie has too much sugar, cut everything in half and add some protein powder and more liquid.

Also, as with all smoothies, feel free to experiment with other berries, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, acai berries, blackberries, the list goes on. And proteins are good in smoothies as well, try some almond butter, walnuts, sesame seed butter, peanut butter, protein powder, green powder. A word about green powder, the smoothie can cover much of the flavor of the green ingredients, just add them slowly and taste in between each addition to ensure the flavor is good for you. Purification doesn’t have to be difficult, a few changes can make a big difference. And smoothies are a great way to add fruits and veggies to you daily intake and experiment with new flavors, new spices, new proteins.

Step 43: Add flax seeds. Flax seeds are very nutritious, but need to be ground up before using them. And if you add them to a smoothie, you will want to add some extra liquid. The recommended amount is only 1-3 tablespoons and this amount will provide:

  • Fiber 8g
  • Omega-3 (ALA) 6,338 mg
  • Protein 6g
  • Vitamin B1 31% RDA
  • Manganese 35% RDA
  • Magnesium 30% RDA
  • Phosphorus 19% RDA
  • Selenium 10% RDA
  • Also, flaxseeds contain a good amount of vitamin B6, Iron, potassium, copper and zinc.

Step 44:  Add buckwheat. Buckwheat is NOT a grain, and therefore does not contain gluten, but it does make a good substitute for wheat in recipes. (SEE Below) One cup of buckwheat contains:

  • 155 calories
  • 6 grams of protein
  • 1 gram of fat
  • 33 grams of carbohydrates
  • 5 grams fiber
  • Only 1.5 grams of sugar
  • 86 milligrams manganese (34%)
  • 86 milligrams magnesium (21%)
  • 118 milligrams phosphorus (12%)
  • Also, small amounts of niacin, zinc, iron, vit B6, folate and B5.

Buckwheat Pancakes

Gluten free, Vegan.

1 tablespoonGround Flax Seeds
1 tablespoonOlive or Coconut Oil
1 teaspoonVanilla Extract
½ cupBuckwheat Flour
½ cupAlmond Flour (or more buckwheat flour)
1 teaspoonBaking Powder
½ teaspoonGround Cinnamon
¼ teaspoonSalt

Stir milk, ground flax seeds, oil and vanilla together in a small bowl. While wet mixture sits for 5 minutes, stir flours, baking powder, cinnamon and salt together until consistent. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir together until fully blended (don’t overmix).

Drop batter in 1/4 cup amounts onto a lightly oiled griddle at medium heat and cook until bubbles form in the middle and the edges start drying out. Then flip them and cook for another 2 minutes (approx).
